Bournemouth University is in the process of delivering the next phase of its strategy. . The financial plan to support this identified a budget shortfall. In response, an Administrative Process Review (APR) was begun in January 2008 and established a target of £26.5m of savings by 2013. Phase 1 – Professional Services Review Working with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, the pro-vice chancellors and other members of the University executive group Maxxim helped establish common agreement around specific areas of change to the University’s administrative processes. Through data analysis, interviews and workshops core business processes were identified and mapped. Guiding principles for the future shape and operation of the University’s administrative services were also agreed. This work led to the definition of a new operating structure for the Student and Academic Services Directorate, the creation of a Management Information strategy and the optimisation of the recruitment and admissions functions. Maxxim is still actively engaged in all three of these new workstreams.
