Ian Hunter

Background

Ian is a principal consultant at Maxxim and is a recognised and published expert in HR transformation and business improvement. He built and led a specialist HR transformation consulting practice for seven years and has held senior positions in leading international consultancies, including Accenture, AT Kearney and Coopers & Lybrand. He has worked in line HR management roles with British Petroleum and PepsiCo.

Ian has worked in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa and North America. His experience spans the financial services, FMCG, manufacturing, telecommunications, retail, oil and gas, transport & distribution and central and local government sectors. He has taught at various European Business Schools since 1997 delivering both executive MBA and in-house executive development programmes, and is the author of 8 published books and reports.

• Global engineering company – as Lead Transformation Director Ian identified significant savings in outsourcing the HR service, prepared the RfP and selected the preferred supplier for subsequent delivery of HR services to over 30,000 employees under challenging geographic and time constraints.
• Large UK local government authority – Programme Director for production of operating model and business case for transition. Identification of significant savings both within the HR function and the wider people management processes.
• High Tech Document and Knowledge Management Company – as lead HR Transformation Director and Outsourcing Specialist, he delivered a new global operating model (excluding US operations) and HR outsourcing programme, production of RfP and selected the preferred supplier identifying 32% savings.
